What is a topic in nutrition that interest me and why?
I am so interesting with the Fats topic because I am overweight when I came to Canada. I spent such a long time to learning about Fats to improve my health status.

Fats in the body provide essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are acids that we must ingest because our body requires them for good healthy but cannot synthesize them.
They aid in digestion and absorption and are carriers of fat soluble vitamins.
Without fat, we would not absorb vitamins A, D, E and K. These vitamins, in turn, maintain the health of vision, skin bones, teeth and blood.
There are 2 types of Fats:
Unsaturated is the good Fat (avocado, olive oil, nuts,..)
Saturated is the bad Fat (butter, fast food, lard, palm and coconut oil, animals fats and dairy product,...)
Other good fat: Omega-3, Omega-6
Functions of Fats:
Contribute to texture, taste and aroma of foods. Without fats, many foods would be bland.
Provide structure, insulation and lubrication.
Provide structure and support for the walls of every cell in our body.
the fat below our skin helps keep our internal body temperature regular and our vital organs are protected by a layer of fat to protect them from injury.
Fats act as lubrication for our body tissue. They lubricate our joints and our glands secrete oils that protect our skin.
Recommendations for Fats in your diet
The recommended total fat intake is between 20-35 percent of calories for adults.
Fat intakes that exceed 35 percent of calories are associated with both total increased saturated fat and calorie intakes.
The future role of nutrition in the culinary industry

Chefs are the person who needs to calculate and choose very carefully when they combine all ingredients together, which have enough the essential nutrients for the body. In addition, customers can make their decision based on the ingredients that are shown in the menu.
How to recognize a credible nutrition website?
Nowadays, there are an increasing number of websites that are created to serve different purposes, which might confuse users due to some unreliable nutrition websites. There are some tips about how to recognize a credible nutrition website.
Author – Information on the internet with a listed author is one indication of a credible site. The fact that the author is willing to stand behind the information presented is a good indication that the information is reliable.
Domain – Some domains such as .com, .org, and .net can be purchased and used by any individual. However, the domain .edu is reserved for colleges and universities, while .gov denotes a government website. These two are usually credible sources for information. Be careful with the domain .org, because .org is usually used by non-profit organizations which may have an agenda of persuasion rather than education.
Sources – Credible websites, like books and scholarly articles, should cite the source of the information presented.
For example:

In the HealthLink BC that you can see all their partners that are Health Care facilities are very credible and well-know in Vancouver such as Northern Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, The British Columbia College of Family Physicians,...

In the California Citizens for Health Freedom that you can see they just shown a little bit information about their page and they didn't talk any thing about their author or their partner.
